Kobuks New Friends ~ Rookie RV Gas Station Mistake ~ Port Orford! ~ S3E38
After an early morning run I take the Bucks out on a quick walk and he makes friends with some horses! We leave our boondocking spot to head to another dry camping spot in a lovely little town called Port Orford! I push it to to try and make it to Oregon to get some cheaper gas that turns out to be a huge mistake.
Dangerous Coos Bay Boondocking ~ Cooking Pizza In The RV ~ S3E41
We heard the rv boondocking was amazing close to Coos Bay so we set our sights on going here. However, after some research and info from fellow bloggers, we decided to skip it. The spot we skipped was Bastendorff and I suggest you not visit there until things get sorted there. We then head to Marathon in Coburg Oregon. Lastly, I cook one of our “healthy” rv pizzas. Let me know what you think of this format for G’s future cooking videos!
G Learns How To Drive The RV ~ Dodges $2,000,000 Prevost Busses
It has been a long time coming and something we should have done a while ago. If you have a rig like this it is VERY important that the other person knows how to handle the motorhome…that is if you travel with another person. G passed with flying colors! It may be a while before I can convince her to drive with the tow car 🙂
Boondocking In Port Orford ~ Our Favorite RV Dry Camping Spot ~ S3E39
As of right now, if you asked me where I would like to buy land, Port Orford would be the spot. I love this little town on the coast of Oregon! When I was in LA traffic and stressed out thinking about parking here was on my mind. In this video we share with you why we love this little gem along the coast.
Cons Of Set Destinations ~ Sani Dumps App ~ Walmart RV Oil Change ~ S3E40
One of the main reasons we are not returning to Alaska next year is the fact that having set destinations really puts a “damper” on other aspects of the road. If we had a choice I think we would have stayed in Port Orford for at least another 4 days. But, that is life on the road, it could be worse! We use the Sani Dumps app to find a free dump and head to Coo’s Bay to get the RV’s oil changed.
Kobuks First Day At The Beach ~ Loleta California ~ Backroad Boondocking ~ S3E37
We ended up boondocking at Radiolabs In Fortuna and hung out with Chris & his wife for a few hours. Then, we headed up to Loleta to hang out with G’s cousin. Chad is a super laid back surfer who has many stories about his travels searching for the perfect wave. We headed down to the south jetty and let Kobuk explore the sandy beach!
Teaching A Man To Fish ~ Catching Up With Bones ~ 5 Star Tuning RV Install ~ S3E35
The main goal of the “Bones Project” is to give someone the tools they need to succeed. Through the internet I was able to re-connect with this guy and wanted to find a way to make his life better. I am a firm believer in being the change you want to see in the world. When people ask me about political issues or scam artists I always reply with the same sentence “All we can be is the change we want to see in the world”. We shall see how this project goes… Lastly, I finally install the 5 Star Tuning Tune!
Replacing RV Screen Door ~ Exploring Downtown Winters California ~ S3E34
The RV projects continue. It turns out the “pet proof” screen door was a bit thicker than the stock screen door that comes with RV’s. This project was one of the most difficult and frustrating projects I have tackled in some time! After a job well done we head into town (or G and her Aunt demanded we go) to check out some of the wineries and explore. The chip install with be posted in the next video 🙂
RV Drive From Yosemite To Winters California ~ Solar Kit Display Install ~ S3E33
We headed out from Tom’s early in the morning to try and make it to Winters at a decent time. Like always we are running a bit late! The drive today was amazing and we really enjoyed the views. Chuck and I got started on and installed the display unit for the inverter and solar kit.
Full Time RV Budget ~ $75 A Day Goal ~ Week 2 Results
Well will you look at that, we actually went below our full time rv budget! We even got some “free” dog training that has proven to be very efficient! Using free camping along out journey has been a huge help. Also, learning how to correctly buy groceries in bulk has helped. Lastly, gas being cheap is good for all of our budgets.
