We make it to the Redwoods and get to an RV park set up via Passport America. We got in late and hardly fit into our spot. Someone else had come in earlier in the evening and took our spot! But, we wake up to a great view and explore the local area.

We leave G’s aunts and uncles house and head towards the redwoods. While on the journey, G has a minor breakdown about money and I relate how I view money while traveling. For better or worse, without this mentality I would not be traveling the way I do today.

Before getting our RV I did very small projects myself. For whatever reason when I tried to work on something I would only make it worse. When we got the RV I started out with the same mentality but quickly learned that you can not look at it that way. If you took the rv in every time something broke you yourself would end up broke! Fixing this RV water pump was a great feeling!

After hanging out with Tom and exploring Yosemite we were back on the road. This time we had plans to visit G’s aunt and uncle in the small town of Winters, CA. While it is not a bustling metropolis it is an awesome little town. Like I mentioned earlier, i must prefer small towns over big cities!

We meet up and hang out with Tom, co owner of EEZRV. He took G and I into the park being we did not have a tow car. He has lived in this area for years and knew all of the good spots to check out. Yosemite is an amazing area and highly suggest you check it out!

After arriving in Arizona we stayed there for some holiday activities. After AZ we headed over to the coast of California and hung out with some of our friends here. One night while I was sleeping outside of our friends house my bike was stolen. Then we try and get through all of the horrible traffic in LA.

Driving through LA is terrible in a car, let alone an RV. And to be honest, I really do not enjoy LA in general. The traffic is horrible and it is very crowded. I will take a small town in Alaska anytime over this place! Anyway, we make it out of LA and make it closer to Yosemite. We end our night by stopping by a free dump station.

After a full day of hiking we made it back to the Info Center. If you enjoy a challenging hike check out observation point! I asked one of the park rangers about parking an RV outside of a campground. She said with certainty that we would be ticketed if we did not find a camp spot. So began a frantic search for an RV spot and we found one! Lucky!

Well…it is bound to happen when you get an RV. When you run into a full timer that has NEVER hit anything, take their picture. You have just encountered a rare breed of person that you do not often meet. Ours happened out of nowhere, like most wrecks do. Luckily for us, no one was hurt.
