Valley Of Fire State Park ~ Saying Goodbye To Fred ~ Waterfront RV Boondocking ~ S4E35

We start our day by heading into Valley Of Fire State Park. If you happen to boondock or travel through this area we highly suggest it. The hiking trails were short but amazing to experience. Then, we go into the next day where we leave fred, dump our tanks and scout out our new home base for the next week or so.

Atlas The RV Gets A Bath ~ Arriving At Snowbird Mesa BLM Campground ~ S4E34

So, just to clear up the confusion in Bend, we were not able to get the RV in the narrow carwash. With that said, Atlas has been in need of a wash for a very long time! After we pick up some last minute supplies at Walmart and wash off the RV, we head to BLM land outside of Overton, NV.

Kobuk Runs Off ~ G Falls In The “Poop Hole” ~ Odd Laundry Experince ~ S4E33

For future reference, if it gets down to 15 degrees Fahrenheit, a heat lamp will keep your RV under bay warm enough…at least that is how it worked for us. I get some awesome footage of the sunrise in the morning with the drone and the Canon. We kept pushing it with the cold weather and felt as though it was time to head South so we hit the road. Before we leave town we take care of the storage tanks and G falls into the poop hole! Then we take an amazing drive to Nevada and get some laundry done.

RV Pipes Frozen AGAIN ~ New Heating Gear ~ Christmas In The RV ~ S4E32

It turns out the 100w light was just not enough for the extreme cold that was heading our way. This time, it appeared as though the water pump itself froze up. We then head into Morgan, UT to pick up some new gear in hopes of preventing this from happening again. Then G gets the RV ready for Christmas time!

RV Bay Heater Success ~ Something Built A Nest In Our Tow Car ~ S4E31

The two days that covered these last two videos were pretty intense. Not only did we travel on roads we shouldn’t have, I found a stowaway hiding under the hood of our tow car! After all that excitement we take a gorgeous drive to our new camping spot and get setup. Finally, Kobuk gets to frolic around in the fresh powder!

Caught In Snow Showers ~ Very Lucky RV Boondocking Spot ~ S4E30

Our time spent near Mountain Home was very productive! I got tons of editing done while G was hard at work on her school work. I wish we would have spent more time exploring the area than working but that is the way it goes sometimes! We hit the road towards Utah with weather reports showing it would not snow until the next morning, this obviously was not the case. We hit some snow then get better weather only to find more snow up the road. Luckily, we find an awesome boondocking spot behind a gas station. The next morning we took this road to our new spot and let me tell you, this spot was a blessing for sure!

Morning Run ~ Restocking In Mountain Home ~ New RV Under Bay Heater ~ S4E29

This, like many of our RV boondocking spots, was amazing! The sunrise was one of the best I had seen in a while. The steam coming off of the water was gorgeous and the run afterwords was just as good. After showering, we head into town to restock on supplies and I gather some gear to try a new underbay heating option.

Horrible RV Stain ~ Rural Idaho Boondocking ~ Healthy RV Pizza ~ S4E28

Well, it is official, we will be putting in a new floor in the RV! We pack up and head towards our new home for the next few days, Rural Idaho. The drive was awesome and we arrive just in time to cook a pizza, watch an episode of Westworld, then head to bed.

Leaving Bend ~ Arriving At & Exploring Crystal Crane Hot Springs ~S4E27

Sadly, we leave our RV boondocking spot outside of Bend. I learn a lesson about Bend, its Gas Stations are Tiny! We then head to Crystal Crane Hot Springs and do some exploring.

Dolly Vs. Flat Towing ~ RV Battery Testing ~ Exploring Bend ~ S4E25

I have noticed a lot of comments mentioning the pro’s and con’s of flat towing vs dolly towing. It seems as though people have their camp and are sticking with it. The one thing that influenced me was someone in the industry rv trying to set a tow dolly and laughing when I said some people say tow dollies are easier. He was red faced and sweaty and looked at me and said they had no idea what they were talking about. I, for one, have had no problems with my 4 on the floor setup. Backing up has not been a problem but binding has been…that is because I have a cheaper tow bar. Anyway…we head into Bend. And no, we did not go rock climbing. Exploring and relaxing took priority. Then I discuss how going with the flow in regards to eating is key for my sanity and end the day with a supply run and a “good” rating for our cranking battery.
