After spending time slide out to slide out in Seward we were very excited to explore outside of town! Its not that we do not like the spot we have, it is just great to be able to go out and explore and not be boxed in! Anyway, we make it to Moose Pass for the festival and try a new RV park. The attendant thought we were going to park the RV and bust out a tent…maybe? People always ask how I am able to stay calm in certain situations. Im not too sure but while editing this video I was getting frustrated! Then we head over to find out Kobuk couldnt come in to the festival and we had to put him in the kennel. For those tired of hearing about the dog, sorry, you will just have to get used to it 🙂 Then we dance the night away and drink some local beer. We ended up having 6 people in the RV. 3 on the blow up mattress, one in the passenger seat and G, Kobuk and I sleeping in the back in our beds. All in all it was a great time! Thanks for reading this short story that you could have just watched instead 🙂
We LOVED salmon fest! This video is actually two days that I spliced together to make one video. BTW, what do you all think of the voice over videos. I felt like with this type of music event it was the best way to show our time here. Then, when we parked in the field the entry way was solid grass, by the time we left it was a mud bog. The spot you will see us leave JUST opened up that morning. I ran back to the rv and got everything packed and we made our daring escape!
SFT =’s Salmon Fest Trip. Part two will be posted tomorrow detailing our time at Salmon Fest. In this video we get a late night start in our RV and I ended up pulling over at about an hour and a half into the trip. It is never wise to push driving late at night in the dark! Early the next morning we stop off at Fred Myers to pick up some gear then we head onto Salmon Fest. I had never parked an RV in a field before and it wasn’t the best idea as you will soon find out!
We get everything set up and head over to the small town of Talkeetna Alaska. When you combine good food, beer and company you are certain of a good time. We had an awesome time at the beer fest and at Talkeetna. Now, I am ready for the upcoming trip back to the lower 48. I think next year, if we do go back to Alaska, the video format will be about the opposite of what is was this year.
Our last RV road trip in Alaska is underway. We pack up everyone and everything to head to the beer fest in Talkneetna Alaska. We had an amazingly beautiful drive to our boondocking spot. After cooking some breakfast we finish our journey to Talkneetna.
After an amazing egg scramble breakfast with purple potatoes we headed back to twin sisters to grab a coffee. Afterwords, we headed over to Chilly Root Farm for a quick tour. If G and I ever get land up here in Alaska we are for sure getting a high tunnel greenhouse! Afterwords I try my hand at grilling salmon and it turned out amazing
What do you all think of this voice over version of our travel vlog? We start the video soon after our last video detailing our trip into Homer. We head down to the spit to run a 6 mile run for our upcoming race. Then we stop by one of Alaska’s newest breweries and try some of their beer. Lastly, we stop by AJ’s steakhouse for a rare right now and end our night playing on the beach and a bonfire. Enjoy your weekends!
Now that we do not have any friends with us in Alaska I can finally get to the Alaska RV travel videos! I hope to have a new one our every other day until our trip back to the lower 48 starts! On this trip we have Mel and Chris with us. They both live in Southern California so they are always up for an Alaskan adventure! We love Homer and suggest anyone who comes to Alaska to spend some time there.
I discuss the awesome RV park we stayed at the beginning of the video. After the RV park we headed into the local farmers market and picked up some fresh produce from the local area. Speaking of produce, we then went to visit our friend at his off the grid cabin. I got some awesome videos from his place and will be posting them over the next few days. Then we take a 8 mile run along the spit before heading home!
Whenever we visit home Two Sisters is always part of our visit. It just so happens it was down the road from us at the RV park. In the years past we have taken Zep with us and camped in tent camping along the spit. Now that we have Kobuk that is not an option! After a quick run we made some awesome burgers in the RV and headed to film at AK Starfish. Sooner or later I will be interviewing Marci for the channel as she is another true Alaskan business owner. I also did some filming for the band Black Water Railroad Co. We end the night with a drone flight over Homer Alaska!
